FRIDAY FEATURE #23

FRIDAY FEATURE #23

Currently we’re at the larp convention Prolog (we’ll be doing a meet-and-greet tomorrow), but we’ll try to cram some Lotka work into the schedule too. Meanwhile, here’s a friday feature!

The cafeteria

The rec-room at Thermopylae need YOU to work hard! As a much valued institution the recreation room has been run by volunteers since the start. It’s not a hard job, some light cleaning up, serving “coffee” (and getting fresh coffee from the mess) and making sure there are no fights over what cassette gets played in the boom box. If you want to join in on the fun, look up the #cafeteria slack channel over at slack.

Schedule now live!

The schedule is now live! You will find the link in the menu when logged in. For those of you that have already seen the schedule, we’ve just now changed it slightly to improve sleep/work ratios for the first day (applies to all shifts except SURFOPS, MISCON and Staff Sergeants).

Presenting our crew

Say hi to parts of the writer/gm-squad:

Petra Lindve

Who are you?

I am a latin student and journalist who has organised the larps Echo Chamber and Where Androids Pray and I am part of organising several larps later this year. I have written several blackbox scenarios and have also written characters for Convention of Thorns, Fairweather Manor as well as all the larps I have organised.

What are your task at the larp?

I have written 50 of the characters at this larp and during the game I will be gamemastering and portraying people from other outposts and Haven.

Why are you a part of the crew?

I like working on big larps and want to improve my skills as a game-master.

Freja Gyldenstrøm

I’m an organizer and “freelance character writer”. I made my first larp in 2010, I was one of the lead writers in the early days of College of Wizardry (I and II), and then I wrote and edited characters for Inside Hamlet in 2017. At the moment I am working on this year’s Baphomet.

Why are you a part of the crew?

Well, I was asked, and since it’s a project I find worth supporting and I generally like working with the other people on the team, I agreed. It wasn’t my normal genre, but I like a challenge!

What makes you tick?

Well-designed games set in interesting worlds. I’ll pour a lot of volunteer hours into something that I can be proud of having my name on. When writing, I want a lot of creative freedom to work with the material the way I think is best. I like working hard with room for crazy ideas and delicious, if a bit unnecessary, details.

Siri Sandquist

Who are you?

I’m a larper and larp designer, and I’ve been organizing and writing for different productions since 2014. For example Suffragette, It’s a Man’s World, Solution, and the Androids trilogy plus freeform games like Winson Green Prison and The Grey Zone.

Why are you a part of the crew?

As a part of Atropos, one of the organisations making this production I really didn’t have much choice… And also I love writing characters.

What makes you tick?

High intensity drama and complicated relationships!

Elvira Andemore

Although I haven’t larped for very long (since 2013), I have managed to participate in many different larps both in Sweden but also internationally. I have helped and worked for larps made by Atropos (Androids and Echo Chamber) and I am now hopefully starting to be more involved by not just making an experience for myself as a participant, but also making great experiences for others.

Why are you a part of the crew?

I wanted to be part of this team because I like creating experiences and to see a world and fiction come alive by the work of a team and with participants.

What makes you tick?

Helping people have good experiences and social interaction!

Linnéa Fredin

Who are you?

I have been larping for about fifteen years and spent five of them as a game master of one of Swedens largest vampire campaigns. I have also been an NPC and/or helper at larps such as Conventions of Thorns, Androids and Blodsband Reloaded. When I’m not larping I work as a child psychologist and drink too much coffee.

What are your task at the larp?

On site game mastering!

Why are you a part of the crew?

Because I asked nicely?

What makes you tick?

Intense emotional roleplay, historical costumes and cats.
